Optimum term of copyright 14 years

Rufus Pollock has been crunching some numbers attempting to use some empirical data - quite a novel approach when it comes to IP - to work out what the optimum term of copyright should be. His numbers suggest the answer is 14 years. Have a look at his paper for the IPPR last summer on the value of the public domain too.

Update: Rufus's paper has received generous praise from William Patry.
