I'm in environmental decision making thinking mode today, reading a wonderful (near final) draft of colleagues
Chris Blackmore's and
Andrea Berardi's first book in
our new masters course due on stream next year; and I came across this
fascinating snippet on a group of bacteria I had never heard of, "Pelagibacter ubique", also called SAR 11. Apparently it has the
most efficiently coded genome on earth and is crucial to the operation of the carbon cycle.
