The FCC have mandated the broadcast flag. The FCC Chairman Michael Powell's statement on the issue is here. All 5 commissioners supported the decision though two disagreed with parts of the decision.

Jack Valenti and Rupert Murdoch will be pleased. Lots of other people are not.
